Cheese Bacon Scones

Chives Clotted Cream

  • Clotted Cream 200.0 ml
  • Chives, chopped 15.0 g
  • Salt 1.0 g


  • Affilia Cress 2.0 g

The savoury and umami flavour combination is inspired by the sour cream and chives potato chips. This combination is then incorporated into scones which can be shared with others, just like potato chips!

  1. Cheese Bacon Scones

    1. In a bowl, combine flour, baking powder, sugar, paprika and salt together.
    2. Add butter cubes into the flour mix and knead till the consistency is of pea-sized pieces.  
    3. Add in buttermilk, cheese, bacon and chives and knead until just combined.   
    4. Roll dough out to 3cm thickness. Cut into triangle pieces or use a ring cutter or by hand. 
    5. In a small bowl, combine egg yolk and cream to make and an egg wash. Brush the scones with the egg wash.
    6. Bake at 175°C for 15-20 minutes or till golden brown.    
  2. Chives Clotted Cream

    1. In a bowl, combine clotted cream, chives and salt together.
    2. Plate with Cheese Bacon Scones and serve.
